Mike Alvarado recently told BoxingScene.com that he has made some changes to his game plan and that he is going to use his boxing skills more on Saturday night when he faces Brandon Rios in a rematch of last October's "Fight of the Year" battle.

When I asked Rios for his reaction to Alvarado's comments, he didn't believe the Colorado native was capable of making those adjustments.

"He came in and he tried to box me but he could only do that for a while because I am going to keep applying pressure. I'm going to be breathing on his breathe and eventually he had to fight my fight," Rios explained.

True, as much as Rios has a crowd pleasing style, all those heads shots will eventually lead to some future damage.

I kinda agree with Rios here..Alvarado can say he's going to box more,but in the end a fighters instincts will always take over in a tough fight..Alvarado will start to go toe to toe in the late rds..His chin is going to have to hold up this time..

I know there were a lot of people saying that(Rios Alvarado)fight was stop prematurely..I don't agree..Alvarado was hurt and was not throwing punches back in return..He left Pat no choice..Alvarado will have to fight a lil smarter in this fight if he is to win..If not expect the same outcome..
