This guy is a very good technician, very good reflexes, composure, dedicated body puncher, heavy hands, amateur pedigree...just bad luck. If he were healthy I'd pick him to beat everyone Golovkin has beat. I wouldn't pick him to do it as well but I'd still pick him. Shame.Comment

Anyone know when and if this guy is coming back? He hasn't fought since May 2012. Maybe he can be GGG's next big name opponent...
This is the last I've hear of him:
Former world middleweight champion, 32-year old Russian fighter Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15KOs) is still hoping to return to the ring. He made serious noise when he blasted out Daniel Jacobs in five rounds back in July of 2010. He made several defenses and had a big fight lined up in 2012 against IBO/WBA champion Gennady Golovkin on HBO, but continued back injuries have prevented his return to the ring.
He said that he would return in August, but I haven't heard anything since...

He was supposed to fight Golovkin in August last year, but the back injury. Hopefully he'll have at least 1 fight this year and get back into the title picture.Comment
