    The hard-hitting junior middleweight Jorge 'Destroyer' Melendez (26-2-1, 25 KO's) will return to action on May 31 as part of a function being televised on Showtime in the state of Florida and his potential rival could be the Mexican veteran Alfonso Gomez (23-6-2, 12 KO's), according to Melendez's manager Edwin Diaz.

      Know nothing about the guy except from his BoxRec, and there it looks like Gomez is a huge step-up for him and probably not one he passes. Either way with that KO ratio and Gomez's style, it should be a good fight while it lasts if it happens.

        He was KO twice when he was fighting at WW. They say he was weak. Since he moved up he's been on a streak. But the guy is a power puncher, not great head movement and sometimes is too wide with his punches. He will be in entertaining fights as long as they last.

          I got Melendez winning, not because he's great or anything but because I think Gomez is past it.It's a decent W for Melendez at this stage of his career if he gets it.
