....should Pacquiao be soundly beaten by Morales.

There are so many Pac supporters who don't really give a damn about boxing outside of their hero.

He brought them here, & he'll take them away.

We'll see about that after Pac-EM. Can't blame an exciting fighter to have lots of followers.

Good thing is, the guy ignited a lot of interest in boxing. JMM despite being a long time champion never did.

      Oh really ?

Look at this board.....look at all the Pacquiao-related posts/threads. Look at the Pac supporters posting them....then go look through the threads not related to Pacquiao, & see how many of the Pac supporters are posting in them. Not many.

Now....if it's a "Who's the Hardest Hitter" type of thread...you'll see a Pac fan in there, listing Pacquiao. That kind of thread/post doesn't count.

Pacquiao deserves a big fan base. He is super-exciting, & terribly ambitious.
But, there are many posters on here who will not be so interested in boxing if he (or another Filipino superstar) is no longer worthy of the big time.

This is usually the case when a big bout is announced or prior to the days, weeks, or even months leading to the big fight, and of course the aftermath. Look at the DLH-Hopkins, Mayorga-Trinidad, V.Klitchko-Williams, Morales-Barrera, Tarver-Johnson, and among others.

And Marquez is no Pacquiao or Morales when it comes in name. Plus one of the thing I notice is most of those thread are usually what I like to call news thread.

And won't it be easier to reply in one post?

.....I seriously doubt we have 3200 Pac fans on here. Besides, the Pac loyalists make the site interesting and diverse. He is an exciting guy who isn't hard to like. Also, he will not lose to Morales so we will not find out anytime soon if your right.

I would agree on that. But he has certainly opened the eyes of a lot of his countrymen to big-time boxing. There are loads of Asian talent but they never get the big shot. Add to that the Internet boom on this side of the world, we now get to own a full fight, including the most recent ones.

Imagine I had to wait more than 2 decades to relish and get a copy of Ali-Frazier!!!

I'm pretty sure that if Mexico has more English speaking fan, there would be a lot more topic regarding Marquez.

Note that the Philippines is the 3rd largest English-speaking nation next to the US and UK.

Pac-Morales is a pretty hot topic everywhere. It will no doubt be a fight of the year candidate and the loser could be heavily pushed back in terms of top billing/top pay in the lower weights.

I think the topics were a lot crazier when Williams was fighting Klitschko.
