    Wilfredo Gomez — an International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee who was the lineal champion of the 122- and 130-pound divisions, and a world titleholder at featherweight — is in critical condition in Puerto Rico after being hospitalized due to a lung infection and respiratory failure, according to the Associated Press.

              Gomez's KO wins over Lupe Pintor and Carlos Zarate had Mexico in a bad way. Only a very skilled boxer in Sanchez and a move up in weight, slowed his roll. Something like the situation with Juanma and Salido. Sanchez was champion, but even money, at best, before the fight. Great fighter, best wishes, get well.
