Well what exactly is Floyd's style? He seems pretty versatile to me that it would be impossible to really describe a defining style for him. I've seen Floyd use a number of styles throughout his career, watch him against Gatti, Mosley, Corrales, and Baldimor.

And why must a fighter using, let's say a shoulder roll position to maneuver his defense, be directly linked to Floyd and not others fighters in the past as well?

Well for one, Broner is more offensive, so he gets hit more.

But, it also has to do with IQ levels, Floyd is much better at anticipating opponents movements which enables him to capitalize more efficiently both offensively and defensively than Broner.

When Broner DOES emulate the shoulder roll defensive, he's generally not as tight, nor as quick with it as Floyd is, his timing also isn't as good.

But he does it good enough, against his current opposition to keep him safe.

Anybody style can be "COPIED" but to Copy it and actually make it work for you is something totally different, it takes outstanding reflexes and timing for that style or else you will make a fool out of yourself like Andre Berto lol

For Example: Broner don't fight anything like Mayweather if you really know boxing and understand WTF your watching...Broner fights much more like the Middleweight Version of James Toney in which he is able to stand in the pocket and still be slick and slippery and counter you with power shots and combos and just break you down inside, Mayweather don't work inside like but he can when you get him against the ropes, he knows how to fight his way to safety

Mayweather versatility and unpredictability in the ring is what separates him from the rest, it is hard to gameplan for a fighter in which you really don't know how he will fight you, you assume you will be chasing him then all of a sudden he is coming forward like he did against Mosley and now your confused because you did not gameplan for him to do that...Very Tricky Fighter In That Ring Like Him Or Not!

So you may copy his style from a Physical Stand Point but you won't be able to do it as well because most fighters especially today don't have the Mental Aspect or Capabilities as a Mayweather it is like he has a gameplan for any and everything you throw at him in that ring, it is hard to catch him off guard...Today's fighters only hope in beat Mayweather is that they get a big assist from Father Time when they fight him

Are you talking about personality style or fight style?

Fight style is definitely not the same. And personality style is kinda the same but not the same. Its a dumbed down Floyd style... With a little more ******ation and "cornyness" added to it.

Because in recent times he more famous for using it. If a fighter starts bobbing and weaving whilst fighting with peekaboo guard Mike Tyson comparisons will crop up. It is just how the world works.

Anyway people will refer to other fighters, I obviously can't remember instances off the of my head but I can vaguely remember people saying something to tune of 'his shoulder roll resembles James Toney's more'.
