Fights and HBO are just linked together, whenever there is a big fight I think HBO, and I like there broadcast because its tradition, not that there is anything wrong with Showtime as I enjoy them as well

The fight network, HBO. Better production, better cards, better fighters. I'm just too used to HBO after so many years to pick the other guys. Merchant/Lampley/Stewards commentating is synonymous with some of the greatest moments in fight history.

I gotta go with Showtime they put more fights on their network. I like Al Berstein and Paulie I don't care so much for that MMA guy he sucks they need to replace him with Steve Albert. I am kinda glad that their is beef with Showtime and HBO. They will try harder to put the best fights on their networks. Showtime just hired Ross Greenburg former longterm president of HBO. Who has won more than 50 sports Emmys and is a brillant producer has tons of experience working on Mayweather-themed projects. Who created the series 24/7. Showtime bringing in Greenburg is a superb move for their network.

I grew up with HBO and all my memories are with them.

Showtime just doesn't have that big fight night feel.

Showtime has never produced anything to match the intensity and elecricity of something like Pacquiao vs Morales, Pacquiao vs Cotto, Trinidad vs Vargas, Gatti vs Ward, Mayweather vs Corralles, Barrera vs Hamed, or Morales vs Barrera etc.

I like both, but have always been an HBO subscriber so I get more of the HBO Boxing programming. Showtime in the last several years have upgraded their presentation, but it's not like they just started putting on good fights, they've always had.

Both HBO and Showtime will be fine. People who think HBO's Boxing program is gonna fail seriously don't know the machine that runs HBO in total. As long as Boxing is on cable, HBO will always be one of if not the front runner.

the #1 thing to me is commentating and Audio. Showtime's audio is the best in boxing by far. ESPN is next. HBO is horrible. It reminds me of my local basketball team, the Washington Wizards. Everytime I listen to our local game it sounds so regular & boring. Then I watch the same game on the opposin teams network and the game sounds so much more alive. You can hear the crowd way better, the screeching on the court, players talking, etc.......

The same with HBO. On Showtime you can actually hear the impact of the punches. People dont pay attention to that. Listen for it next time. Its way better than HBO. It makes the fight much more exciting. Watch a fight on HBO and then watch it back on Sky Sports or something like that. You will hear way more of the punches and in the ring stuff.

Then Im just so sick of HBO's same guys of Lampley, Merchant, Steward before he passed, and now Max. I use to be a Max fan but he's horrible now. Everything he does is annoying. The only good one is Roy and even he was bad during the Bradley fight. Give me the Showtime crew all day (as long as they get rid of that annoying MMA guy).....lol

Therefore, video production is probably HBO but everything else is Showtime. I rather have the sound quaility on point more than the lighting. Hearing the punches gives you a total different feel of the fight and makes it way more exciting. You can even hear the swooshing of the arms when they swing some times
