I've seen some BS articles of his on here.
maybe he's improved though. I haven't read his stuff for ages.
Tend to just skip the story if i see his name.
If you haven't read someone's writing in "ages," not to mention the piece of writing for which someone's given an award, then why do you even provide a comment?

Your post displays the kind of inane, irrelevant, thoughtless, and frustrating waste of time to which its readers are subjected. Perhaps the very things you dislike yourself when reading an article.

      M'kay.
HaglerSteelChin's response notwithstanding, even if BWAA winners are selected by other members, it's not as inherently unfair as you may have implied.

One can make the argument that being judged by one's peers is the fairest system available. It takes an industry "insider" to recognize and appreciate a colleague's contribution to it.

The Academy Awards are selected by its members, to the benefit of its own members (I think). Would you rather people completely outside the movie industry select its winners? If so, people already do that. You can do the same with writing awards.

If you would like to dismiss the BWAA's winner selection process, so be it. But it does have its merits.
