I dont. Its hard to call moving up 2 weight classes for a fight a cherrypick. Its a fight where his opponent can outbox him but not likely KO him. Paulie's lack of power doesn't make it a cherrypick.

It's skipping the tough fights at 135 and 140 to fight a shot, paper champ at 147.

Well, let's look at what Malignaggi has done in the last 5 years...

Loses to Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan, Juan Diaz (once)

Beats: Juan Diaz (rematch), Jose Cotto, Senchenko, Cano

Broner's best win is probably Demarco (which isn't saying a lot), but against Malignaggi he's fighting a crafty boxer who has seen his best days and has fought some of the best in the sport.

I don't know if it's a cherry pick or Golden Boy are trying to pair him up with Mayweather for a super bout next year (not totally impossible).

But he IS jumping over probably the most stacked division in Boxing...so....

He's fighting the weakest welterweight champion there is. The Jr Welters are stronger then Paulie. Broner skipping 140 sucks.

It's an insanely easy fight for Broner, straight up mismatch, there is absolutely no size difference here, this whole 2 weight class bull crap needs to stop, Malignaggi is not a physical fighter, even if he was...Broner is still the physically stronger fighter of the two. I see Malignaggi getting stopped in the mid rounds, he loves to jab, and Broner's counter left hook is really gonna do him in.

Cherry pick with other more interesting/entertaining fights at 140 Broner jumps up to 147 to take on the weakest champ in that division to take another belt in another weight division. Sure it has a couple challenges for Broner but not as many as taking on one of the top guys at 140
