Barrera/Morales should be next then they can wait a few years again for all I care.

But that trilogy was just as good as Gatti/Ward to me and had ATG fighters.

The first fight is absolutely deserving of all the plaudits that it's received, but christ, what a grossly overrated trilogy of fights.

And yes, this series is absolutely accountable for polluting and corrupting the minds of a number boxing fans with the number of myths and outright lies that it's spawned.

The third was also fight of the year.

Significantly better than Gatti-Ward in my opinion. Like you say, it was two elite level operators going at it and the standard was just so much higher. The animosity between the two didn't hurt either.

it really shouldn't have been. round 8 (IIRC) was a flashback to the first bout, but there were better fights that year than Gatti-Ward III. Toney-Jirov and a few others stand out in my mind.

LMAO, Barrera really didn't want to do that in a 'street' situation with Terrible. watch how quickly Erik puts his ass into retreat.

If there ever were fights which deserved to be on this show it has to be the trilogy between those two guys

I think he'd got what he wanted

The speed is crazy though. Imagine how quickly one of those guys would put you on your ass.

Only when Mayweather leaves; HBO's biggest drawcard do they decide to bring back 'Legendary Nights'. What a bunch of cunts.
