a 41 year old Fraudley is a HUGE step up for wilder

    something stinks.
I agree with some of this, but you gotta at least give him credit for not going after a title shot with a ****ty resume some people do... Charr, Wach i'm looking at you...

I think he may be waiting for Vitali to retire to get a shot at that title. He's definitely not fighting Wladamir 1. cause he hasn't earned it 2, cause they've sparred together and have mutual respect for each other.

Its wierd how every time an Audley fight gets announced i immediately think of him stepping back and flashing out quick left hand ko'ing his opponent... Then i think about it and know that hes going to do what he always does, shell up in the face of power shots and end up cowering on the ropes taking a beating/getting stopped.

Deontay Wilder should be too powerful for Audley to think about throwing shots. KO early rounds for me...

Also to those saying that Wilder needs experience because he didnt have much of an amateur career... What exactly is he learning in fights like these? Surely his promoters should be looking for guys who are going to take him a few rounds, not Audley Harrison.

In typical Earl Hickey hating fashion on dis kat Wilder. Listen, Audley Harrison was written off years ago (and rightfully so) but he looked reinvigorated in his impressive HW Prizefighter run and he's breathed some life back into his career.

If Wilder had picked Audley as an opponent post Price I would've criticized him (like Earl Hickey loves to do) but Audley looked decent in his performances in Prizefighter.

I like this matchup now. Two tall rangy heavyweights trying to garner contender status going at it? What's there not to like about this?

i actually think this is a decent step up, lame as that is. i'm in the minority, but i think they're doing a fine job with moving wilder. HW have always been moved slowly. they develop late. they peak late. they make risk a ton of money, because HW have traditionally gotten paid huge dollars. and finally, one punch can end your whole run.

wilder hardly knows how to box if you're comparing him to top professionals. most world class pros have been boxing since they were boys. wilder gets better each time i see him box. he'll really start to make the strides when he's in there with guys who can go rounds.

he's got the talent, though. that right hand is about as big a punch as you're ever going to see.

Audley is pathetic, but that's how bad Wilder's resume is.

If this is what the division has become when a fight against Audrey is "good fight" or "a step up in class" for Deontay, then people need to hang their heads in shame.

Winning the Prizefighter is in no way, shape or form a good enough precursor for a Heavyweight fight. If Deontay struggles in this fight, he might as well just quit boxing altogether in shame, or of course, contend in Prizefighter each year.

Even Harrison is a step up for Wilder. Wilder has never fought anyone as good as Harrison in almost 30 fights. Sad but true.

He hits hard but has **** defense, and it's very unlikely his technique is going to improve much. So they're putting him against guys who don't fight back so they can market him as the next big thing in the HW division.

Their goal is probably to promote him as much as possible without any risks until Wladimir retires, at which point he'll be hyped enough as Wlad's successor to sell a big amount of tickets to the public, though he'll lose against other contenders.
