Honestly, I'm not Filipino, but I think they were casual, average watchers of the sport. They did have Elorde and Espinosa in the past as well as many other up comers that failed to be anything. Don't try to make it sound like they only watch because of Pacquiao. While he did lead a huge rejuvenation in the Filipino boxing scene, it wasn't like they didn't know boxing existed without him...
