it's over bro.... Pac loves to give the fans a good fight, so he'll never become a defensive boxer... he'll always get that chin checked and cracked as it is, he's best off retiring

Marquez feels bad, he doesn't want to inflict more brain damage on Manny. He knows what right hands can do to his health, he's already star
ting to sound like michael j fox.

All aside, I don't want Manny to wind up like roy jones jr. He doesn't deserve it. He had a great run, retire while you're...eh..a huge draw. Almost said #1 pfp

It's nice to finally hear something from the Pacman, but honestly, there is not much more I'd like to see him do. So what if he comes back and gets a win against a credible opponent? Does that mean's he's back? NO, he will never be "back". The Manny of the past is long gone.
Let's not make this out to be a similar Trinidad or Dela Hoya situation where they come back to KO a willing Mayorga and everyone thinks they are back now. Only to go on and get dominated in their next fights. He should retire while his legacy is still intact. Anything more is going down the Jones Jr. route. It's just destroying anything he ever did because people will only remember the most recent.

Not surprising that Pacquiao wants to return in September. People need to realize that Pacquiao is no different than 75% of the people in this country. Yes he makes a lot of money. But he lives paycheck to paycheck, he cannot afford to retire.

Also a lot of funny future oppenent ideas being tossed around in this thread. Manny Pacquiao is with top rank, he will only fight someone who has a promotional contract with Top Rank.

However, the 34-year-old has not given any indication that he will fight Juan Manuel Marquez again after his brutal defeat in December which left 'Pac Man' motionless on the canvas for several minutes.

"Tell them [the fans] to be patient. Bob Arum [promoter of Top Rank boxing] and myself have been talking and will continue talking," Pacquiao told the Manila Standard.

"What is definite is they'll see me fight again come September. Not April nor immediately after that as speculations are going. Tell the public that it won't be long before I make them happy again when I fight." [Click Here To Read More]
I wonder if it's going to be on PPV... Not saying he can't sell, but who is going to fight that would make it PPV worthy?

Eaasy for ppl to say that Manny should walk away when he still a huge draw and even bigger star! Manny has worked his way to the top the Right way and deserves to go out on his own terms! even if it means never regaining the BEAST that destroyed the lower weight classes...personally Pacquiao has always been one of my my favs even tho im Mexican i respect the talent...i dont believe he has lost his step maybe just not as hungry as he once was whatever the case i look forward to the return of the champ... would most like to see him in the squared circle with brandon rios if he can get past alvarado again.(He should... i dont think Alvarado will make any significant changes to affect Bam Bam Tko 10) All in all would like to see him in with Rios because i think its a good matchup for Manny and his heart and stamina would likely get tested by the fiery Rios.....
