going through some things..here is a good interview after the Pascal loss.
Froch spars Pascal for Taylor fight
"I'm really proud of Pascal for what he's done. Canada must take their hat off to him because everyone was of the opinion that Chad Dawson was going to come and put a clinic on him, but Pascal showed him who was boss and not only took Chad's record but added the Ring title to his trophy cabinet." said Froch.
We asked Froch what he made of the action and the outcome.
"It panned out as I thought it might, with Dawson perhaps looking to get his slick jab off and turning Pascal as he came forward. But Jean fought from the outside, rushing Dawson with heavy artillery and buzzed him a few times. Anything of note was landed by Pascal - and he shook Dawson to his boots more than once. Pascal is a very solid, physical fighter with good momentum and Chad was failing to deal with it. Also Pascal had success with the right hand and exposed Dawson a few times with it mid-action." Said Froch.
We asked whether or not Chad Dawson was exposed Saturday night by Pascal and would he be interested in fighting either man?
"Was Chad exposed ? I think he was slightly if we're honest. When we are told again and again how great someone is... and then they aren't it does leave you feeling a little short changed. But hat's off to Pascal he got the win and looked strong enough at the end to have finished the fight regardless of the cut. I don't think Chad Dawson is fool's gold like Jeff Lacy was. But he has a lot of doubters now. His next fight will be pivotal to his career in that sense." concluded Froch.
"But with regards fighting them ? Well unless Dawson turned it around in the future, he really isn't on my radar. He say's he can make 168lb still but after seeing his strength and fitness at 175lb being a bit questionable, I think that would be a bad move for him to head down as I reckon any one of the super six would have his number." said Froch.
"With regards Jean Pascal though, me and him have become like Rocky and Apollo. We’re friendly outside the ring and I wished him all the best before this fight. But yeah, a rematch is something I would honour the man. Whether we do a catch weight or title fight – it’s something I would consider after the Super Six has concluded."
"A fight with Pascal would have all the ingredients and the Bell centre looked very good indeed. So long as Marlon Wright didn't referee it then that would be an option. Or we could do it here in the UK as he has won over a lot of fans this side of the pond too. British boxing fans voted our last meeting the fight of the year, so you just know it would sell like hot cakes here too. I'd be up for it in New York or Vegas even - anywhere outside of Germany would be great."
So do you think you could beat Pascal at light heavyweight then ?
"Rocky always wins," laughed Froch. "Always."
