The June 8, 1998 edition of his show, where Robertson denounced Orlando, Florida and Disney World for allowing a privately sponsored "Gay Days" weekend, also drew criticism from Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Robertson stated that the acceptance of ****sexuality could result in hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, ********* bombings and "possibly a meteor," prompting Americans United to criticize Robertson, saying it was "deplorable that Robertson is using the tragedy of these fires to promote his religious and political agenda." The resulting outcry prompted Robertson to return to the topic on June 24, where he quoted the Book of Revelation to support his claims. The first hurricane of the 1998 Atlantic hurricane season, Hurricane Bonnie, actually turned away from Florida and instead damaged the rest of the east coast. The area hardest hit by the hurricane was the Hampton Roads region, which includes ******ia Beach, where the Robertson's The 700 Club originates. While other hurricanes did hit Florida, none of them hit Disney World

Glad to see Ghost doing his media rounds. Quite frankly I'm disgusted by all the negativity people are throwing at Guerrero and Christianity. If you don't believe in it that's fine, but we should all hope Guerrero does everything he can to get his name out there and to make this fight one of the biggest ever.

Good for him..if the message is self improvement and helping others more power to that. Don't matter what religion you believe in or support.at the end of the day take a look at his fathers misdeeds can't knock a guy for wanting to change and not follow suit. Unlike other popular athletes who are overtly religious I have yet to hear Robert condemn anyone's lifestyle or beliefs..that to me is what religion should be like. Offer a hand but don't slap it when folks reach for it. Each one of us knows a few people who could use religion in their lives.

Robert please keep in mind
Robert you need to smell the coffee and wake up, the lord doesn't approve fighting, God is about love, not beating each other up. God will not help you or Mayweather win, it's up to who ever has better skills.

Probably shouldn't have laughed at this, hope I didn't offend any of the religious folks here!
I know that a tough life event like that can bring people even closer to God, so Robert wanting to share that story is cool he might inspire someone or give them strength if they are going through the same thing.
Doesn't excuse that hustler Pat Robertson....although I'm kind of hoping he slips in something off the wall to say about the apocolypse and somehow links it to Floyd.Last edited by LA_2_Vegas; 03-25-2013, 03:50 AM.
