Comments Thread For: Marco Antonio Rubio Continues To Be a Big Draw at Home

Marco Antonio Rubio continues to fall just short once reaching the top level, but remains a hero to many in his native Mexico.

With a win over Marcus Upshaw tonight, the middleweight contender is guaranteed a mandatory title shot in his next fight. The announcement earlier in the week declared that the WBC will reinstate his previous mandatory ranking prior to his Feb. ’12 showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, on the basis of the absence of promised random drug testing – or drug testing of any kind.

He's one of my favorite fighters; I hope he gets another big fight.

3G would destroy Rubio. Rubios style is made to order for him.

Sergio and Rubio will be a nice fight. After Sergio puts him away he should cap off the year by ending Golovkin's career.

My guess is that if Sergio does fight him (GGG) than it will be just the other way around.

I like Rubio. But I have to ask. How the hell does beating a 15-9 fighter put anyone in line for a title fight?
