Anyone out there still think Solis is "gonna be a force"

I still like Audley because he was brought up from the same area as me and when he won a gold it was quite something.
But you're right, his face in the Haye fight was unacceptable. It would be acceptable for me to have a face like that if I was thrown into a ring with prime Mike Tyson but that is not an acceptable face to have for a professional boxer to hold in a fight, much less an Olympic Gold medalist, 6'5, 18 stone heavyweight. It was embarrassing.
Not sure why he was so nervous.
I would say he looked confident against Price, he just got KTFO. The only time Audley looked truly confident in the ring was when he was KTFO by Sprott, and the 2nd prizefighter win. He can look quality at times Big Aud.Comment

Solis would appear to prove the unofficial 'Cuban Rule' that the island's big guys tend to badly disappoint when they come over to the west and the smaller men do far, far better.
The much-hyped Gomez and Gonzalez (him with the freaky hairdo that suggested he had just busted out off a lunatic asylum or endured a bad encounter with a renegade Australian sheep-shearing gang!) were definitely not Savon/Stevenson.
And I've frankly given up trying to work-out what the hell is happening with Mike Perez. Can only presume he's met a nice Limerick girl and he's got a job down at the local supermarket; and that's why he has not fought for 2 years and even then he faced the not-so mighty Friday Ahunanya.
The difference between Solis and his smaller Cuban compatriot Rigondeaux could not be more stark - one man is respected and focussed and heading for a major unification fight and the other is being mocked for being porky, inactive and badly in need of a trip to bootcamp.
Hernandez is the only Cuban big boy doing well at the moment and Solis had better shape-up soon if he wants to fulfil his potential.Comment

A 235 pound Solis could be a force in my opinion, can throw some fast quick combinations with that 80" reach. In terms of amateur/professional fights he has the most in the division with almost 400 fights in total. The man just has a weight problem that I don't see being solved.....
Mike Perez or a heavyweight Yoan Hernandez be more of a force for CubaComment

it would be humbling to take either he or arreola on at the buffet. i can really put the food away, but i can see either leaving me in the dust. arreola would really shine if we added corona into the mix.Comment
