In the Mathebula fight when he used his jab in about the 7th or so and boxed he had much better success! He was doubling up on his jab and able to set his left hook up, everything flowed off the jab nicely without having to go crazy and lunging, doing silly rolls & superman punches.
He actually got tagged good a few times when clowning, I think its a good job Mathebula isn't a puncher as that really could of made things interesting.
I'd like to think he'd show a puncher more respect but he did the same against Vasquez Jr, Darchinyan etc

If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess but he won't get away with that against Rigondeaux
obviously if mathebula was a puncher he'd fight more hesistant after taking some, and also mathebula would'nt have landed as much to begin with, because as a puncher you have to commit, mathebula was more like bradley in that fight, all arm punches(while retreating no less), just superficial damage and this is pro boxing so people should really rethink their scoring methods when it comes to pitter patters and retreaters when judges usually look for the guys making the fight

navez is a lefty with a ton of exp and am exp. nonito didn't land more thna tw clean punches all fight.

navez was a small guy moving up in weight also. nonito couldn't touch him

rigo is way faster, stronger, and a much better fighter.

nonito was also gassing hard in that fight and naves wasn't even landing. nonito expends tons of energy throwing his punches

      rigo will drown em!
I don't think you're going to win if your mentality is just to survive. That's what happened in this fight. Narvaez survive and lost the rounds at the same time.

It would be hard to sugarcoat the obvious. Narvaez went in there with his shell defense and never even bothered to engage. All he did was survive and collect paycheck. The fight went the full twelve rounds and he threw less than 300 punches. I think the score was something like 120-108 if I'm not mistaken.

I thought Navaez was making Nonito look ****** at times. He was making Nonito miss wildly and sneaking in counters. I don't care what the scorecards read. Call it what you want running, scared, unwilling to engage, Narvaez did what he could given his circumstances. Not sure i can say the same about Nono

No he wasn't. He was running and losing the rounds at the same time. Counter? he barely threw any punches. Less than 300 for 12rounds. Running isn't going to win you a fight.

He countered him a lot and made him look foolish in doing so. Nowhere near enough to win the fight. Here's a video I'm pretty sure it's the right one.You don't have to listen to what the guy is saying turn the vloume down but there are some good clips of Nonito getting countered by Narvaez all day long and making him look ****** in the process. And not the same punches either this was over the course of the first few rounds.

It would be hard to argue facts against a fanboys POV. Fact is Narvaez threw just 24 punch/round. The counter you are talking about is just a selective clip to justify an opinion. He was running and losing. Stats and score of the bout will back that up.

It wasnt a selective clip. It was multiple clips in chronological order from the beginning of the fight till about the 5th round. What he was saying in the video is irreleveant. You said he wasn't making Nonito miss with wide shots and countering I said he was difference is there is footage to back up what I'm saying.

We're they devastating shots ? No.

We're they enough to win him rounds ? At most 2 or 3 rounds. But still not enough to win the fight.

Was the Narvaez fight a showcase type fight for Nonito ? Yes.

Did Nonito look good ? No.
