Comments Thread For: Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado Rematch: 1,500 Tickets Left

Top Rank's CEO BOB ARUM: Tickets are selling extremely well and we are very pleased with that. There are only approximately 1,500 tickets left. We are selling 60 or 70 a day so I am pretty sure we will have a sellout by fight time. There is one bit of advice I want to give both fighters – nobody smoke a joint – wait till after the fight is over.

Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado II, a rematch of their 2012 Fight of the Year-nominated fight and one of the greatest fights of the 21st Century, will take place, Saturday, March 30, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The 12-round World Boxing Organization (WBO) interim junior welterweight championship rumble will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark®, beginning at 10:15 p.m. ET/PT.

good fight but pretty much a predictable fight...

mike is gonna try to box rios ears off , but wont be able to for the whole 12...

alvarado's gameplan is pretty much exposed ,even brandon knows this... rios stops him earlier this time..

Are they going to use the arena's max capacity or did they curtain off most of the upper sections? If it's max capacity that's pretty impressive.

They probably scaled it for 10k

Less than that I imagine. The place only holds 12k at full capacity and according to ticketmaster they are not selling upper level ticket, only Floor and lower level tickets are available.

I remember they scaled Rios vs Gamboa for 6,000 in the same place.

So what? How often do fights sell out in Vegas...they usually don't. At least the arena won't be half empty, that's a pleasant surprise.

The seating chart has the whole upper level(200's) curtained off. Im sure it is downsized to no more than 6,000-7,000. U have to consider the comp tickets to lure the high rollers. They might sell a total of 4,000 at the most.
