The World Boxing Council (WBC) will pay tribute to former three division world champion Shane Mosley, 41-years-old, for his 20-year career when he faces Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano on the 18th of May in Cancun. Mosley, who debuted on February 11, 1993, will be honored at the show, according to WBC president Jose Sulaiman. Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KO's) will face Cano (26-2-1, 20 KO's) at the Oasis Hotel and the show will also feature Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson (30-2-0, 28 KO’s) and Ricardo “Rocky” Juárez (29-10-1, 21 KO’s) on the undercard. Televisa and Fox Sports Deportes will televise.

I don't care what anybody says, I'm calling this a Mosley win, Via Knockout. I met Mosley a few times right before the Margarito fight, and the dude was awesome. Hope he wins convincingly.

Mosley is a true warrior, he's humble and he fought damn near everyone of note, no ducking. but being humble has cost him millions and people still try to trash him, this is why i say promote yourself like FMJ or
broner, cause "fans" dont appreciate humble, fans dont pay for ppvs to watch humble i.e. Andre Ward humble, great fighter, yet the fans that talk **** about the self promoters dont pay to watch those humble fighters, if they did maybe we would have more humble fighters. But until then WAR Mayweather/Broner. Cause they gonna talk **** about you anyway, might as well get paid.

There's no doubt Shane is a great dude. A really great dude with a great attitude in and out of the ring. I hate to see him fight into his 40's- his style is not made for this and he's only punishing himself and potentially taking years off of his life and/or mental health.

I hate that he gets hated on but it's true, it does in some ways make the Mayweather model look like the right way to go. Boxing fans are seemingly ruthless and often unintelligible *******s. If Shane had approached choosing his fights in a pickier way he could also still be undefeated and not (apparently) needing money at 41.

He also wouldn't have the respect he has from guys like me if he hadn't taken on so many ballsy fights- even, if not especially the ones he lost.

nice guy Shane is all finished & MX is 1 of the few places he can get a license & 2 keep boxing as he's got very little $$...living, expenses, that big divorce , legal bills w/the peds...he's w/GBP in some small capacity but as a name w/no real income except whatever Oscar gives him...quite sad IMO...
