The early scuttlebutt was that Rigo replaced Rubio with Diaz because Pedro Luis was charging him less money for his services. From the sound of it, the initial word appears to be just rumor. Jorge should just let this all go. Giving interviews about this subject is beneath him. Guillermo is about to enter his twelfth pro fight with his fourth trainer. It's clear that Rigo changes trainers like he changes socks. Why take it so personal?

I understand where he is coming from because you invest a lot of time and build a relationship with a fighter. It's one thing to have one go because of a specific reason, but to have one leave and not tell you why is not good on Rigo's part.

From my understanding, Rigo is a bit of a primadonna and does this time to time. Jorge is an excellent trainer and a very nice guy with a lot of class. I watch him very closely when I go to his gym and always find the time to pick his brain when I can.

Plus he loves my kid, and gives Maja great sparring.

I totally understand what you're saying. Rigo should've given Rubio an explanation. It's not just right in this situation; it's right in practically all forms of human interaction. But Jorge comes off as a jilted lover with this interview. He's better than that. Everyone sees what Guillermo is doing. I totally understand what you're saying. Rigo should've given Rubio an explanation. It's not just right in this situation; it's right in practically all forms of human interaction. It obviously has more to do with Rigo, that's not my point. I guess as a pro trainer myself I'm biased but you just don't do that, especially to a world class trainer like Jorge. I know this man well and he is about as classy a guy as you can find in the boxing world, not to mention he knows his **** like very few in the sport.

I get what you are saying and we have discussed this before but I dont' like Rigo very much, I don't think he's a nice guy. When he knocked my kid down, he used profanity and told him to get the *** out. That to a 18 year old amateur kid who is just there to work.

I also don't let me personal feelings get in the way of seeing Rigo is a great fighter, there's no doubt about that.

I know this man well and he is about as classy a guy as you can find in the boxing world, not to mention he knows his **** like very few in the sport.

I think anyone with any knowledge of Rigo's track record recognizes that he has a tendency to change trainers, to put it mildly. Quite frankly, Guillermo strikes me as a bit of a flake. He's a great fighter -- I do believe that -- but being a great athlete doesn't necessarily make you a great guy, or even a dependable guy.

I understand your point, and agree that Rubio deserved better; I just think that Jorge is better off letting it go, as bitter as it is to swallow. It must suck that your former fighter lands a big-time fight and decides to let you go then and there without even the damn courtesy of an explanation. SMH

Agreed, it's ok though because Jorge has El Cobra now and he's got a ***in monster in that kid.

Except El Cobra is stuck with a **** promoter.
