Danny Garcia insists Amir Khan must face one of the top light-welterweights if he wants to prove he has learned from defeat.

Garcia's shock knockout win over Khan last summer prompted the Bolton man to team up with new trainer Virgil Hunter and he will continue the rebuilding process with a fight against Julio Diaz on April 27.

Diaz is a former world champion at lightweight, but Garcia believes the 33-year-old is past his best and does not expect him to supply a stern test for Khan.

"It's a fight that he's supposed to win," the American told Ringside Toe 2 Toe podcast.

I'd love to see Danny Garcia prove the world wrong but until he faces his mandatory opponent Lucas Matthysse everything else is a duck.

How is Garcia gonna talk smack about Khan's opponent when he beat a well over the hill Morales? Garcia caught Khan with a good shot and won the fight, then beat old Morales and he is the best at 140? Give me a break!!!!

What I don't understand is how Khan is the one who gets to face the winner of this 140 lb. tourney GB is putting together. Why does Danny have to win the right to face the guy he KO'd and took the title from? With Lucas in the mix he could well not get the rematch he wants and deserves.
