In the list of Guerrero fights to be aired, his war against Berto wasn't one of them. Maybe an oversight.

LOL @ people thinking HBO is gonna tank. C'mon guys...seriously, the majority of you saying that are the ones who are STILL going to watch HBO. Why do people front so hard like taking side with a network / promoter is the cool thing now? Like...what genuine Boxing fan isn't going to watch Donaire vs Rigo because it's on HBO? LOL...Jesus Christ.

That fight was on HBO so they probably don't have the rights to it.

Showtime and HBO very rarely let one another use video footage.

Good call, fellas. I was thinking Guerrero/Aydin was also on HBO, but it wasn't, which is why it is listed.

Showtime needs to invest in production as much as they do GBP fighters!
I agree with everything u said.

I don't think people realize how much this fight has to sell in order to make a profit.

just to cover Mayweather's guaranteed minimum purse of $30 million the fight needs 500k at $60.

Mayweather is carrying this card all by himself. even Pacquaio couldn't crack a million all by himself and he was adored by the media and public.

the spanish speaking media isn't giving Guerrero much of a chance and without Canelo I doubt many mexicans are going to buy it. they aren't going to pay $60 to only see Ponce de Leon vs Mares.

Golden Boy and Showtime have to go all in with it because they know if it fails then CBS will dump Espinoza in a heart beat. if Espinoza is gone Schaefer and Haymon will lose their network. Golden Boy is playing a dangerous game.

they won't be finished but the days of cherry picking and easy fights might be over for Golden Boy and Haymon if this PPV flops

I like the large amount of programming and advertising going on with this fight, its gonna cost a lot so hopefully they make money off of it...im gonna be spreading the word about this fight at my university for sure!

Some of the guys here don't realise that the reason the networks do this is to get advertisers in. Companies pay huge amounts of money to advertise on TV and with programmes like these Showtime and CBS will get some clients for advertising.

HBO has made a bold decesion to drop GBP. I personaly don't think it does HBO any good but there are other promoters with good fighters out there so we'll see.
