CBS 2nd largest broadcasting station in the WORLD

You idiots really think CBS/Showtime doesn't have the budget are you kidding me??? CBS is the most watched network if they want to pay for boxing they will pay for boxing! Now that they have the best stable in boxing they will definitely have a budget for it. 1st of all they have a former Golden Boy employee in charge at Showtime sports they had this in mind all along. They have the biggest stars in boxing they'll be fine and all you idiots who believe that Top Rank is better is obviously on the luny train.

HBO, SHO, CBS, NBC, CNN is like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, and those other junk food companies....might look different, taste different and might even offer a different product....but at the end of the day...they're ALL the same with the same agenda....and with the right info you'll see that they're owned by the same ppl....go to Burger King and complain about some ****....ask to speak with the manager....some dude with button up gonna pop up and act lie he's holding it down

dude sitting up in a office on the 99th floor is really the boss....HBO, SHO and the rest are just hoes, they have a pimp....and those dudes parading around like Ken whatever and the new dude at SHO are just the BK managers...field generals....GBP got the juice, they'll be fine on ANY network IMO!!

It's obviously bad for Golden Boy that HBO isn't available to them anymore. It's not good for HBO either but GBP gave them little choice, and ultimately they have enough interests in different markets to not be too worried about their boxing programming taking a short term hit.

And that's the most important thing to realise, that we won't know how all this works out for years. It's going to have a dramatic impact on boxing, but who the winners are going to be it's hard to tell.

In the short term, the real 'winners' from the HBO-GBP split are Top Rank, the smaller promoters, and Showtime. Top Rank and the smaller guys just saw their negotiating power with HBO shoot up over night. Showtime have just seen their new partner lose the most important leverage they had, the option to switch back over to HBO.

But it's all speculative right now. The battle lines have been drawn but we've no way of knowing what way the battle will go. I expect, and hope, that both sides are going to go out of their way to woo us over the next 18 months. That should mean some great matchmaking in the year ahead. If it doesn't, then it will be a very bad omen for what this move is going to mean in the mid to long term for the sport as a whole.

It will hurt GBP in the long run if Showtime can't pony up more money to keep the business going.

GBP might have to back off from signing new prospects if they can't afford to pay a growing stable on a SHO budget. This can only give other promoters who are still with HBO an advantage.

Canelo vs lopez? Martinez vs chavez was a much better fight on paper.
