I think that's a big assumption. Ruslan looked like he punched himself out after the second round, he seemed tired. I don't think it goes 12 rounds without Provodnikov landing that shot.

I have seen most of Bradley's fights and he is not a toe-to-toe fighter. He fought that way either to gain respect or because he underestimated Provodnikov's power, probably both.
Bradley does like to get inside, that is a recurring theme of his fights.

You make a good case though, what you say may well be the way it plays out in a rematch.

Bradley likes to pressure and swarm but it is always with footwork and head movement. His style changes to the fight of his opponent. Against Junior Whitter, Kendall Holt, Nate Campbell and Devon Alexander, Bradley was quite comfortable getting on the inside and smothering those guys with combos and clinches. When he has fought harder punchers in the past like Peterson and Abregu, Bradley strafed around the ring, fought on the outside and used unexpected angles of movement to catch those guys as they came in on him.

In round 1 of Bradley - Provodnikov, Tm did his best impression of Brandon Rios and fought phone-booth style. That is definitely not his fighting style. I have only seen him fight that way once before and it was in the third and fourth round of the Lamont Peterson fight, a fight he was winning comfortably where he was basically showing off that he could fight in the trenches. He didn't stick to that style for very long because Peterson was hurting him, he soon reverted back to outside fighting and won a comfortable decision.

I could be underestimating Provodnikov big, and that's definitely not my intention. But from what I saw in their fight, Provodnikov hurt Bradley bad because Bradley fought in a way that opened himself up to that kind of shot. This is not to say that Provodnikov would not catch him with anything but I think the success would be sporadic. Abregu hurt Bradley a few times with his punches but not enough to put Bradley in dire straits like Provodnikov was able to.

Bradley was saying pre-fight that he was going to knock Provodnikov out, that he was the welterweight king, etc. It sounded to me like a guy psyching himself up to go to war with a power puncher and that's exactly what he tried to do. It was a tactical mistake but I think it's one he would easily correct in a rematch. My 2c anyway.

To make it clear, I think Bradley was very lucky he escaped the second round, let alone the entire fight. The game plan he picked was not smart.

Bradley would be more cautious this time and score his way to a victory.

Bradley won't box for 12. Bradley stands and trade and even if he chooses to box Ruslan knows how to cut the ring off. Ruslan now knows he can hurt Bradley and I'm pretty certain Ruslan is capable of adjusting too, he won't be punching himself out.

Bradley will and is capable of fighting smarter. There is always that chance that Provo might KO him but odds are with Tim.

for some reason, a lot of people don't seem to realize there's a ground between the inside and outside. it's called mid-range, and Bradley spent entirely too much time there swinging in this fight. his problems weren't really on the inside (ie. on Provodnikov's chest), it's when he was trading with this guy with that little bit of space between them which allowed RP to get his off.

Don't expect to see another Fight of the Year. Bradley engages less and boxes more.

I voted for the Russian winning. I thought he won the first fight. He is less experienced than Bradley and morely likely to improve for that reason. He is still learning more so than Bradley who is also trying to improve but has been a champion for years and has sort of peaked.

As far as Bradley being forced into a rematch by being called a coward and a ducker goes I don't think so. When has being called a coward and a ducker ever bothered Bradley? I really don't think Bradley will rematch him. It's one thing for him to trash Pacquiao for not rematching him but quite another thing for him to give the dangerous Russian the rematch he deserves.
