Ken Hershman A Positive Force In Boxing?

When Ken Hershman ran Showtime and created the Super 6 and the 118lb tournament his whole philosophy seemed to revolve around creating the most competitive fights with the best fighters and being Anti-politics with networks/promoters/ABC's which fu3ks up the sport.

There is alot unanswered about this HBO/Golden Boy split but this was the most interesting thing to me in the article "In order to achieve our goal of the best fighters in the most compelling match-ups, we've decided to focus our efforts and resources on those strategic relationships where we better share common goals and business philosophies," Hershman said in a statement.

Golden Boy is the biggest promoter and along with Haymon and their aquiring of RING magazine they have shown their M.O for wanting as much control and power as possible. Could this split be Hershman's way of telling them that HBO isn't going to be a tool for them to carefully build up their fighters and be a P.R. machine for them essentially saying if you want to be on our network your boxers should be prepared to face anybody?

That sentiment doesn't really jive with TR's philosophy of 'careful matchmaking and marinating'.

Maybe Hershman had a change of heart.
