There are many young guys who are stepping up. Go look at Javiar Fortuna's record. It includes a former world champ and 2 unbeaten prospects. TONS of young guys on ShowBox have already stepped up by their 12-15th fight. All they are doing is over-protecting Benevidez.

hope his hand heals up fast. benavidez is a very talented prospect..he just needs to work on his defense a little because the last guy he fought had him all wobbly legged...

I have been hearing for a few years now inside the gym that his hands are in bad shape. Would hate to see this derail his promising career.

Many guys as in TONS of ShowBox cards were 14-0 fighters fight 19-0, 15-1, 21-1 fighters. I have seen this COUNTLESS times on ShowBox cards?????? There is no such thing as "brought up differently" on ShowBox. Fighters put their unbeaten records on the line there! And there is a HUGE stretch between fighting a 14-7 fighter and fighting a Vic Darchinyan. Benevidas is fighting crap setup fights. Good thing ShowBox doesn't allow his a$$ to fight 8-7 fighters. Thats why he is not on SHowBox. Pitting prospects agains prospects weeds separates the real deals from the rest and ShowBox does that. Why break your hand on some obscure card against a nobody???

Damn shame about his injury. He is a shining prospect that could grow well into the Middle Weight division.

Like I said regarding Russell Jr, why are you gonna make him step up and if he ****s up his hand and takes a beating fighting one handed? Not sure why you complaining, he's not fighting on HBO or Showtime. He's fighting on Fox Deportes and toprank.com cards. They're obviously trying to figure out a way around his hand problems. If he was taking up a slot on HBO or Showtime vs **** opposition then you had room to complain but that's not the case.
