Jimmy Tibbs said he never saw a better prospect than Danny Williams, and tells the story of how Danny went to Russia at 17 years old with only a handful of amateur fights and amazingly stopped the three top Russian heavyweight's with ease to win the tournament. He was rung up with half an hour to get his bags packed for the plane to Russia, it came totally unexpected and he was supposed to be there just to make up the numbers.

A huge waste of talent, he lacks self-confidence big time, his head is all over the place, he has an awful 'trainer' in Jim McDonnell who doesn't actually train him, has a promoter in Frank Warren who actually thinks he's a bum (Warren has very little actual boxing knowledge), and is often 30-40lbs overweight. It really pisses me off.

I don't know if I've ever seen anybody with more natural ability than Danny Williams, I saw him BEAT UP Henry Akinwande in the gym in 1994 just before the Commonwealth Games. He went to America seven years ago and knocked out Maskaev. He made Rahman quit when they sparred at the start of 2003. He really is a world-beater in the gym, when he's weighing in the 230's or the 240's.

Its strange to see some of these old clips and see the likes of Danny Williams and James Toney in shape.

You can tell that he's an athletic dude.

And like it or not, I'd go out on a limb and pick him over some of the current top heavy's.

The Williams that fought Klitschko and Harrison would be anihilated by any top 20 HW even in this ****ty era. He's HUGELY OVERWEIGHT and has a crap team with a crap attitude.

The Samil Sam loss was a HUGE UPSET that came totally unexpected and to be honest it Finished Danny Williams. At the start of 2003 Don King promised Danny a shot at the world title by the end of the year, but the loss to Sam was disastrous and Danny was all of a sudden a bum in his mind and others minds too. It's Danny's own fault for going into the Sam fight so out-of-shape because everybody thought he only had to turn up to win.
