You Heard Of Roy Andre? Roy Was Abit Of A Personal Favourite Of Mine And Also Quite A Popular Member Of The West Ham Gym, The Best Amateur I Saw To Never Win A Title Of Any Kind.

Roy Was A Really Good Prospect I Thought And Held A Win Over Irelands Tommy Corr In 1984. The Thing About Him Was He Had Dangerous Punches That Came From Nowhere And Could Hurt Them With A Punch When They Least Expected From An Angle They Didnt Know Existed.

Roy Only Started Boxing Seriously At 18 In 1982 After His Dad Died And Made It His Life Goal To Win The London Abas Like His Dad Had Done. But He Was Unfortunate To Come Up Against The Best Bunch Of Local Middleweights Ive Known In Losing To Michael Watson In The 1984 London Semis, Rod Douglas In The 1985 London Final, Nigel Benn In The 1986 London Semis And Lost To Rod Douglas Again In The 1987 Final Before Head Injuries Caused In A Pub Fight Forced Him To Pack It All In. He Gave Watson, Douglas And Benn All They Could Handle And Mark Kaylor Liked Using Him As Sparring Partner Because He Knew He Had To Be Alert At All Times.

                    Steve (Bunce),

If you read this could you tell me if you know anything about Mike McCallum and Chris Eubank's sparring sessions in 1989 and who got the better of who? Also, do you know if Nigel Benn beat any decent names in the Army? Thanks man! You da man!
