Do people understand what robberies really mean? Holyfield-Lewis=Robbery.

I am sick of so many people complaining about robberies in every single close fight. Holyfield Lewis I was a 'robbery'. It led to a federal investigation and it let to Emmaneul Steward calling out boxing and it's integrity for one of the few times in his life.

'This is what's killing boxing' A robbery is when Lewis clearly beat up Holyfield for 9 of 12 rounds and there were 3 swing rounds... Than it's a draw. A robbery is NOT Bradley-Ruslan.. A robbery is NOT Mayweather Castillo. Those are close fights that could have gone EITHER way. A Ruslan win? Sure. A Castillo win? Sure. Not a robbery.

We as boxing fans are over doing the 'robbery' claims. I even heard some people say Martinez-Williams was a robbery. I think viewers are influenced by the commentators and fans to a certain degree and will incorrectly make judgement.

A classic example of fans in attendance not knowing what the hell is going on was. the booing of Roy Jones Jr after a hard fought courageous win over Tarver during their first fight. It was a very clear Jones win yet because of Tarver's upset factor, boos were rain down upon Roy and you would think that was a 'robbery' of sorts when it was nothing remotely close to a robbery.

Pacquaio-Bradley was another example of a 'true robbery'. If you score every swing round to Bradley, that's 7-5 Pacquaio or at the very least a 6-6 draw. That's a robbery. It wasn't as 'dominating' a performance as Pacquaio fans would like to claim, but he definitely won the fight.
The robberies in mega fights are what's really hurting boxing, but smaller fights which could have gone either way should not have people crying 'foul play'. Especially great fights like the one Ruslan-Bradley put on for us.

That fight reeks of corruption and was a true throwback to the Mafia Era where everything was brought and pay for. Steward was visibly shaken in a way that he never was. This is why you must go for the knock out.

To me last nights fight was a close fight it could have gone any way.
Would you call Erislandy lara vs Paul Williams a robbery?

A robbery is a fight where there is no logical way to score the fight for the winning fighter.

If a fighter wins 7 clear, indisputable rounds and loses, he was robbed (of course this would need to be adjusted for knockdowns, point deductions, etc.)

Last nights fight shouldn't be listed in the poll. It was an extremely close fight that could have gone either way or even a draw. I thought the scorecards were perfectly fine. The judges were very accurate for once.

Yeah. I was a big Lewis fan back then. Didn't really follow him til he put that beat down on Briggs. Hated the fact that Americans hated the guy. I'm American by the way.
