    Home Depot Center, Carson, California - In a battle of undefeated welterweights, Wale "Lucky Boy" Omotoso (23-1, 19KOs) started strong but it wasn't enough as he lost his undefeated record and a ten round unanimous decision to Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9KOs). The scores were 96-93, 96-93 and 97-92. Omotoso started strong and dropped Vargas with a series of punches in the second round. Vargas fought back in the fourth and had Omotoso in serious trouble in the fifth round. They fought back and forth until the final bell in a close fight.

        Good fight. Better then anyone could have thought it was going to be. Could have gone either way. Good win for Vargas now lets get to the main event.

                Vargas took him to school. Lucky boy was reluctant to engage. That knockdown wasn't even a knockdown.
