Comments Thread For: Moises Fuentes vs. Donnie Nietes Rematch is in Play

According to WBO minimumweight champion Moises Fuentes (16-1-1, 8KOs), a rematch with WBO junior flyweight king Donnie Nietes (31-1-4, 17KOs) is being discussed for a date in June or July. They fought on March at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City - and went to a twelve round majority draw. Both fighters believe they deserved the decision. The first one was in Philippines the second one should be in Mexico, it's only fair unless someone has no balls to fight in Mexico.....

first fight was a good fight..very close..

rematch should take place in a neutral country this time so no complaints/excuses from either side about robbery.

This wasn't close at all, it was a one sided beat down by Fuentes.

Nietes kept on running all night.

Nietes has been to Mexico and was treated fair but fought bums, he should give Fuentes a rematch in his hometown but I doubt he will.

nietes landed all the clean/harder blows and even had fuentes visibly hurt during one round...fuentes was being more active by throwing a lot of body shots but barely landed clean imo (mostly hitting the arms/elbows). it was a close fight i scored a draw (which i think is fair).

considering fuentes is like 5'7" and looks like a super bantamweight on fight night, nietes did good. i thought he would get knocked out by the much bigger fuentes.

Height doesn't matter, both made weight and Fuentes is champ at a lower weight class. Fuentes hurt nietes far more times than he was hurt, I don't think fuentes was ever hurt. Nietes lost the title that night, you know it and I know it. Look at how nietes face looked at the end of the fight, he looked like he had been beat up by a gang of 20.

The taller fighter is fuentes but how can he be "much bigger" when he is the champ at a lower weight class.
