I think it would have made him a better fighter. PDL didn't hurt him, however Broner didn't respect him & PDL layed some leather on him good. I think he'd have learned to actually defend himself.
Hard to say. If he lost and rematched and won decisivley I would say not much changes. But if he officially lost that fight and decided to move on I think he would've taken a hit. It wuld be hard for him to get away with saying some of the things he says "anyone can get it" etc.. with a loss on his record. Also part of his appeal is people wantin to see him lose tae that away and there's not much else left other than a talented undertested boxer who says some mildly interesting things from time to time.
Could he have not had achieved the stardom he now currently possesses?
Discuss.
Everybody already thinks he lost that fight, so I don't think it would have changed much. I don't think it would have ruined him mentally either. I do see what you're getting at. Maybe there would have been less hype, but considering his age and experience at the time, it would have been understandable unless we are talking about an absolute hater that is not going to give him a break anyway. He might have become a little more humbled. He certainly needs that. lol
