    Has Canelo fought many southpaws?

I haven't seen much of Canelo or Trout's fights, because I always felt canelo was overrated and I don't know trout outside of Cotto, but I'm just starting to do my homework now as the fight nears.

I noticed that Canelo's biggest strengths are his left hook and his effectiveness when he goes to the body. When Canelo connects to the body, the fight doesn't go very well for the other fighter.

But from what i've seen from trout, he has a very tight defense, and isn't vulnerable at all to the left hook. If canelo goes to the body with the left, all he gets is trout's back and arms. If he goes to the head, trout's shoulder is in the way.

What southpaws has canelo fought? I'm going to continue to study both these guys but I'm asking because I want to see how Canelo does against a southpaw.

southpaws are easier to hit with a left hook, not harder. a lot of ppl argue that the left hook is a better weapon against a lefty than the right hand. personally i think its about the same.

its especially dangerous to the body, in fact thats the one advantage an orthodox fighter has over a lefty, that he can get to that liver rather easily. a lefty can land his right hook to the body just as easily but that side isnt as vulnerable.

I'm not talking about southpaws in general, i'm talking about trout.

He's not vulnerable to the left hook. He gives away his height just so he can protect his body, combined with his good footwork.

I just want to see canelo vs a southpaw for positioning reasons.

Btw, Good call on the liver thing. I never took that into account. A southpaw IS more vulnerable because his liver is facing you.
