Mares probably associates himself with Capone-e because he's from Hawaiian gardens which has a known gang culture. Capone-e's camp HPG is very well known in the gang culture of L.A.

The biggest question is why aren't there more boxers associating themselves with Capone-E.He's such an iconic and beloved figure among Mexicans and Chicano's, which, in addition to his rapping ability, probably has a great deal to do with his humble, down-to-earth demeanour.He never forgot where he came from, never forgot how much his family sacrificed to cross the border over from Mexico.
