Floyd can handle it. Duran went up and beat Barkley at 37 years old.
Honestly I think it is silly also, but he should have kept quiet about Ward. He is a great guy who did not need to be drawn into the drama
I agree with Sir Dean on this one here. Floyd could've and should've kept Ward's name outta his mouth. But I also think Ward' should not have let Floyd get under his skin to this extent as well. But Floyd is far more wrong in this whole thing than Andre is.
1) His next fight is at 147lb so the jump would be 13lbs.
2) His last fight was at 154lb, he weighed in at 151lbs so the jump would be 9lbs assuming he doesn't weigh in under.
3) There is a risk that he'd be weight drained but there's also the possibility that he'd pull a Chavez Jr. and retain enough power that the size difference outweighs whatever he loses through shredding down.
I repeat myself you would have to be delusional to make the claim that Mayweather is ducking Ward, you'd have to be delusional to make the claim that a natural Welterweight is ducking a Super Middleweight.
I can't believe I'm arguing this point, least of all with you. I never had you pegged as a fucking idiot.
Floyd made Marquez jump 12 pounds when he could have met him at 140, or better yet, honor the original contracted weight of 144. Kev is ***** slapping you all over this thread. For once, he's tired of floyds shenanigans.
Love Ward. Love Floyd. But I cant think of a dumber fight. Ward is willing to cut his legs off to get that paycheck. I cant blame him.
But to blame Floyd for not taking fight and calling it a duck? **** me.
Talk some seriously personal sh-t like Floyd did, and made a nice guy like Ward go on a twitter rampage and even call him out? Floyd is to blame for not taking the fight.
I thought Ward couldn't make 160 and that was why he wouldn't fight Sergio Martinez. If he is saying he can do that so easily he should go wipe out 160 which has better fighters than 168 and 175 combined (that Ward hasn't already proved superior than).
A weight drained zombie version of Ward versus a blown up Floyd, talk about sideshow circus freak fight, I guess everyone likes different stuff but watching two great fighters even the best fight as shells just is not very appealing to me.
Ward would be at like 80% at 160, while a bloated up Floyd would be at around the same as he is at 154, which is some where around the lower 90 percent.
Going up in weight>going down in weight.
Who benefited from Pacquiao vs De La Hoya? Pacquiao coming up 2 weight classes, or De La Hoya going down one?
Fully expect Floyd to coast out the rest of his career. He is slowing down, he knows it and so does everyone else. Floyd will deny it till he bleeds from his ears, but deep down he knows it.
Ward is simply too big and too good. I believe Ward said what he did simply out of pride and frustration. He knows Floyd would never fight him. I also think Floyd should apologize but we know that will never happen either.
I do not believe Ward could get to 160 comfortably. I hope he was joking like someone else said earlier in the thread. Andre would cut muscle and stamina to get that low.
Talk some seriously personal sh-t like Floyd did, and made a nice guy like Ward go on a twitter rampage and even call him out? Floyd is to blame for not taking the fight.
Ward is calling out a 5-8, 147 pounder.
I have zero interest in watching a chubby Floyd and a drained Ward "settle their score".
