Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury To Cunningham: I'm Going To Retire You!

Heavyweight Tyson Fury (20-0, 14KOs) has promised to hurt, punish, knockout and retire former cruiserweight king Steve Cunningham (25-5, 12KOs) on April 20th at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden. The match will be televised by NBC Sports. Fury vowed to use every inch of his 6'9 frame to overwhelm the smaller man. The UK-based heavyweight wants to make a big impression in the United States.

Unfortunately, I think Cunningham is simply "at that stage" in his career where he'll become a credible name stepping stone for HWs. And maybe even CWs if he decides to move back down to "his best weight" where he'll be drained and overtrained (ala Byrd)

Fury has to be taught a lesson. Just like Price was taught. Fury is a class C fighter. Unless he fights other class C fighters, he will lose.

Cunningham really isn't big enough to do anything in this fight

can't see Cunningham winning this fight
would prefer Fury wins anyway, he matches up better with Wlad
don't think Cunningham will get very far in the current HW era
if there were more smaller HW's around, he'd have a better chance
he wasn't even that powerful as a CW

fury is going to punish cunningham. as far as i'm concerned cunningham's hip sneakers & best track suit won't be able to help him avoid the beating he could take from fury over 12 rounds. fury is too big, too strong & too young for cunningham who has to eat just to make 205...if it goes 12 rounds i hope the judges don't give a guy running a track meet the win...just my opinion

lol. Say what you like, Fury's got some humor to him.
