Comments Thread For: Schaefer Finds it Tough To Get Mosley Back on HBO/SHO

Shane Mosley tweeted this week that Bernard Hopkins has inspired him to remain committed to winning another world title.

That could require more patience than Mosley might’ve thought just a couple months ago. Since his proposed April 27 WBA welterweight title fight against champion Paulie Malignaggi fell apart last month, Golden Boy Promotions chief executive officer Richard Schaefer has encountered resistance from executives at HBO and Showtime regarding Mosley’s return on one of those networks.

I think that ex wife of his cleaned his bank account and now he has another woman and an empty wallet. Mosley is done, he should just retire and find something else to do.

I feel bad for Shane I'm almost certain he needs the money. His ex-wife has been taking him to the cleaners for years, and now his new girlfriend is probably getting him as well.

No one wants to watch him anymore, he should do something else now before he loses his faculties.

To all u boxing noobs who say Mosley should retire-
It is his body, his life and boxing is his chosen career.
He is still worthy of being a test to up and coming young fighters.
No one has the right to tell what he should or should not do

Good, even more reason for him to stay retired.

This is how it should be, stop paying for these old fighters, they need to spend and conserve money more wisely while they are on top.

Don't see what the point is for Shane to keep going. A future HOF, why drag yourself down to that level? Also, isn't he a GBP partner? He should be making some money through that. If he has to fight again, put him in with Malignaggi. That's about what I want to see.

Everyone has the right to tell him what he should do (though not the moral authority, which is a different thing). Of course, as you point out, Shane has the right to do what he wants, regardless of what anyone says, and regardless of how ill advised it may be.

Everyone has the right to their opinion and no one is telling him anything.

Mosley is done, he needs to look after health.
