He's heavy in the streets. A real life boss. The feds were trying to shut him down for years. They had him on surveillance and he ended up donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to Al Gore's presidential campaign to get them off his back.
One time, a rapper on his label was kidnapped by Master P, who was a multi-platinum selling artist and a wealthy multi-million dollar rap mogul in his own right. Master P actually called J Prince and asked permission to murder the guy because he didn't want to get on J Prince's bad side. He ended up letting him go.
Prince is a big boxing fan and owns a gym in Houston. He was also managing several boxers in the 90s. Early in Floyd's career he signed to J. Prince. Some **** went down and Floyd wanted out of his contract. I don't know full details but Prince wouldn't go away until he got his money. He showed up to Floyd's boxing gym, with a gang of dudes strapped to the core and had the entire gym shook. I think Arum ended up cutting Prince a step aside check.
Other than that you hear a lot of other stories. Him sending goons out to rough up rival record labels, making his artists pay up and other street ****.
Now he's just involved with the church, does a lot of community work and runs his gym in Houston. But as you can see, this is a guy you do not want to **** with.

This manager did strike a nerve with the "he also knows how to keep the money", remark.
Everyone knows that Ward is a thrifty. With his character, he just might have a second career in politics when he is done. A clean cut kid who won Gold for his country, is a man of faith etc,.
He may not make the kind of money that FLoyd has made, but when you compare these two in their 50's, I'm willing to wager that Andre's net worth and savings will be a lot higher.

This is irrelevant. It's about principle. A real character should not sell-out and start becoming a manufactured trash talker just because there is demand for it in the Boxing-Universe. It's a damn circus.
With that said, a clean-cut guy like Ward should have the type of management more along the lines that the Klitschko Brother's have, then a team that seem more fit for a Ex-Con, Gangsta Rapper.
