to answer the question yup. Mayweather is already kinda scared he will be making every excuse in the book after canelo filets trout on april 20th

i'll preface my statement by saying i don't think it is at all likely that canelo has an easy time with trout.

if he demolishes trout it will be a huge statement.


the canelo and floyd fight still won't come close to what mayweather and pacquiao could have been. nobody knows who canelo is. they certainly don't know who austin trout is. those two are names in the boxing world only. in time, canelo may develop a mainstream american following. right now thought, he's a niche athlete for mexican american and boxing fans in the states.

Real question would be what would Floyd's excuses be when it comes to Canelo? They're both Golden Boy fighters. There's no Arum to deal with. There'll be no drug testing excuses. Canelo would bow down to whatever terms Floyd comes up with.

This is what i think. If Canelo wins and headlines his first PPV against decent opposition then maybe one more in Dec then a May fight with Floyd or Martinez would be huge. Much bigger than Sept.
