Roy Jones (116-112) and Chad Dawson (117-111) probably had the best performances against Hopkins:

Roy Jones (Age 24) v. Hopkins (Age 28)

Hopkins was green, but still a great win for Roy.

You have to forget the fact you're fighting some boxing technician supposedly some ATG HOFer and **** him up, now. He's close to 50 and Cloud was prolly ****ting his pants in the ring he forgot Bernard was 48.

Need a non-sloppy, someone who can actually cut the ring, and a real work rate that won't crumble aka will to win. I honestly felt Cloud lost the mind games and his mind gave in, he just felt he couldn't beat Hopkins.

Chad Dawson tapped that ass more than Calzaghe ever did. That Calzaghe/Hopkins fight was a joke because it was two men hitting air, it had to be one of the worst fights ever. Hopkins probably landed the cleanest blow in the fight tho in the first round when he dropped Calzaghe.

Well, if you look at it as two skillful fighters showing good defense than I guess so, but I think it was more to do with Hopkins have great defense but lackluster offense and Calzaghe having great workrate but **** accuracy. I don't know but their offense in this fight was bad with the exception of Hopkins 1rst round knock down.

Any time Cloud gained momentum Hopkins figured it out and stuffed in, usually with a clean right hand. After the 3rd or 4th time Cloud was lost.

Yeah I noticed, especially when Hopkins sidestepped his ass while he lunged into the ropes. Hopkins reflexes aren't too shabby.

We need a real swarmer in there, Hopkins probably creates his next 5 moves while these young guys think of 2. I don't know who that is and I really doubt some young guy is going to outplay Hopkins at his own game right now.

Unless Ward went up in weight and fought Hopkins, I don't know who I would pick.

And it's impossible for Toney to ever get in shape. He is the burger king.

I mostly agree with you but I was just looking for guys who could actually make it to the fight and not have given up already, the list gets shorter when mental toughness is factored in when going against Hopkins.

Ask for random testing or be Calzaghe.

In his prime, be one of Roy, Hagler, Monzon or SRR. Nowadays, he can be outslicked or outworked, but either approach has to be wedded to intelligence, and Pascal and Cloud are not (comparatively) intelligent fighters
