Comments Thread For: Juan Diaz: I'm Returning To Conquer 135 Once Again!

When "Baby Bull" Juan Diaz walked away from the sport he had competed in since he was 8 in June of 2011, his post-boxing career options seemed limitless. Only 27 at the time, he was accepted into two different law schools after earning millions as a triple-crown world lightweight titleholder. As lucrative as his prizefighting career was, he never splurged and continued to live a spartan life under the roof and rules of his blue collar parents in Houston.

During his two-year-hiatus from the ring, Diaz opted for a career as a venture capitalist in lieu of law school. He founded several diverse businesses, the largest of which being a trucking company that grossed over $2 million last year with 15 employees on its payroll. [Click Here To Read More]

Diaz should give Ricky Hatton a call that'll be a good fight at JRWW

This is why Broner is moving up. He heard the Baby Bull was coming back.

Disappointed to hear this. When he walked away after the second Marquez fight, I applauded him for looking at the big picture and leaving to pursue a law degree. He talked about leaving with his health and not letting the sport retire him.
Sucks to hear he opted for the quick money instead and even more disappointed to hear he is another former fighter that couldn't stay away.
        Hopefully he doesn't regret it.

You're absolutely right, it's good advice. Boxing got him a nice fortune and his buinesses are doing well. If he wants to keep his weight down he could go to the gym without returning to the ring. So there's obviously more to it. He was slipping quite a bit. He had a very tough very close fight with Katsidis, and then lost the next (and last) four fights. He really lost to Malinaggi twice.

Maybe he just needed a break....

              What the ****?

After all those ****ing articles about how he was retiring to go to Dartmouth, and now we learn that the dude never even went? Lame.

He cancelled his last fight because he claimed Dartmouth wouldn't defer his enrollment for six months, what a bunch of bull****.

"Venture capitalist?" Talk about polishing a turd. Just write it as it is; dude runs a trucking company.

However; with Broner, Guerrero, Marquez, and Rios moving up, maybe there's room for him at 135.

I understand the concern, but, at the end of the day, it's his choice. I wish him the best and will be rooting for him.
