    "The Fight Game" Thoughts

actually I dont remember the title of Lampley's show and dont feel like looking it up but I think thats what its called.......lol

I havent really seen any threads about the last episode. What did you guys think? I missed the very begining with the P4P list. I was shocked when Bradley said that a Gamboa fight had been discussed.

One thing that really stood out to me was Lampley/HBO seemingly getting killed with his interviews with Kellerman & Iole. To me it seemed like Lampley was trying to downplay the Floyd deal and was smaller than reported & will backfire on Showtime. Then Iole comes on and makes it sound like it was a huge deal for Showtime and acts like they are the major players now.......lol

Then Lampley goes on to Max about how the only way to justify the deal is if Floyd fights guys like Sergio & Triple G which he never would but then Max basically says its dumb for people to demand a small guy like Floyd who came from 130 to fight guys like Sergio & e****ally Triple G. I think he said that Floyd's not even a big WW

The thing I really don't like about the show is I never feel like I'm learning anything. Even what Iole was saying was like "Well yeah..."

I like the show because it's for casual fans. They send the right message by promoting the sport in general not just HBO. You won't ever see Showtime promoting an HBO fight.

The show is terrible. Lampley is the wrong guy. He's not a newsman/ anchor. If they are going to keep the show they need to get a legit anchor.

Didn't see it last night but that's been my impression of it. I like Lampley, but it bugs me when he puts on the horn-rimmed glasses and plays the boxing intellectual, and then says the most obvious, banal stuff about the sport you can imagine.

You have to remember that the majority of people that have HBO aren't on boxingscene 7 days a week either, LOL. They see the show after perhaps watching the fight just because they saw boxing was on while flipping through the channels. So the news that's covered on the show is not something they are already aware of.

There's a link in the video forum.

Just flicked through it there. I had to laugh at the bit where he talks about Broner fighting Mayweather with the footage of him beating up Gavin Rees being offered as evidence of his suitability. Then when he's talking to Kellerman he puts Broner in the category of 'dangerous' competition for Mayweather

                    Oh Jim, you old whore.
