What do you think of Thurman-Berto?

It'd be a step up for Thurman, and a win for Berto would put him back in the spotlight.

Then he could fight Floyd next
just kidding but that could be good. If Berto loses he will probably become like a gatekeeper to fight higher competition.

I agree. Berto would need to win that. If he loses, that might be the end of his days near the top. Like you said, a gatekeeper.

good fight. berto has better handspeed and power compared to zaveck especially in the right hand which thurman proved to be vulnerable against.
however both figbters are under al haymon so it might not happen at all.

The way I remember the Berto-Zaveck fight it was pretty even when Zaveck got cut and they stopped the fight. Berto seemed to be gassing out and Zaveck seemed to be coming on strong. I think Thurman already pitched a shutout with a guy that is at or near Berto's level.Berto does not have that good of chin and Thurman is the hardest puncher of all the welterweights. Berto is short on stamina and resorts to holding often to catch his breath and rest. Thurman sets a fast pace and is always on the attack. He is strong enough to wrestle free of Berto's bear hugs. It all adds up to a Thurman win be KO in my opinion. Berto has some fast hard punches so it's possible he could KO Thurman if Thurman's chin can't handle Berto's power and Thurman makes mistakes that let Berto get his big shots in. My pick is Thurman by KO.

Agree. I just can't pick Berto against any of the WW contendors anymore. I just can't.

I'm thinking a Thurman KO. Berto's chin wouldn't hold up to that power, and he would definitely get hit. It's not like Berto has great defense. Berto would need to catch him and take him out.

Thurman would beat him down. Berto has terrible punch resistance.

lol unless Berto developed a master shoulder roll for this one. Either way Almost definitely going to be a ko and we can see If Berto can still compete and if thurman can become something good
