I think Paulie has slipped a bit recently and his defense is no longer as good and he's just generally not as sharp. I'll take Broner by unanimous decision 8-4 right now. He'll find his rythmn and begin to land hard shots towards the end. He has nothing to fear from Paulie I don't think.

To be completely 100% honest, I expect Paulie's movement and high volume jab to cause Broner some problems for the first few rounds. Broner won't stop Paulie, I think we'll see a significant decrease at 147 in Broner's power. He'll still have enough to hurt you, but not like it did at 130-135. Broner by UD, 9-3 or so.

Pillow fists from a few years back might have had a chance to keep it competitive, I don't see Paulie doing much to deter Adrien Broner at this point. Paulie will keep things interesting for a few rounds but Broner ultimately walks through him and wins a lopsided UD thus winning against the weakest champ at 147. Once he wins I hope he goes on to tougher oposition, maybe (though unlikely, I see him forcing the 140 guys to go up and fight him instead of the other way around) drop back down to 140 for big fights.

As to the fight, I genuinely don't know who is going to win. Broner is obviously the favorite but there's no telling if his power carries up and how he handles the two class weight jump.
I don't think he stops Malignaggi but even if Malignaggi wins by decision I don't think he gets the decision.
The Hatton/Khan fight shows good feet and a solid jab give Paulie major problems, Broner is far more defensively gifted than Hatton/Khan. I don't think Power will play into it too much for Broner even if it doesn't carry. But he will be hitting Paulie inside far too much, Broner doesn't have the best feet but he certainly has enough to give Paulie headaches.
If Paulie wants to win he has to expose Broners wide stance, he doesn't have the movement Mayweather had when he was younger. But it needs consistancy through 12 rounds. Paulie is very on/off. Against Cano he looked frankly awful, we'll see but I think Broner is going to win this handily.
EDIT: after watching a bit more footage I'm more hesitant. I think Paulie has a shot if he can move consistantly over 12 rounds.Last edited by Ryn0; 03-10-2013, 04:37 PM.
