Comments Thread For: Photos: Mendez Gets Revenge With Drilling Salgado KO

At "The Hangar" in Costa Mesa, California - Argenis Mendez (21-2, 11 KOs) made good on the opportunity to get revenge with a thrilling second round knockout of Juan Carlos Salgado (26-2-1, 16 KOs) to capture the IBF super featherweight championship. Mendez dropped Salgado in the first with a hard right and then drilled him hard with a left in the fourth for a big knockout win. Salgado won a controversial twelve round decision over Mendez in 2011.

Happy for Mendez he really is the better boxer between the both. Salgado is a ****** brawler. Mendez a lot more crisper.

Oi he also called out Gamboa, if Gamboa isn't dead set on fighting at 135, we got some pretty interesting fights at 130, a division that's been dead for a really long time.

Mendez looked superb showed aggression and countered when the opportunity opened up.

Uchiyama is not even an option WBO seems to be getting a foothold in Japan but don't expect IBF anytime soon,

Gamboa/50 will pretend Mendez doesn't exist
