He will get through this fight in impressive fashion. After this fight he will be fighting Castillo(the winner of Castillo/Corrales III). Then there is word of him fighting Hatton or moving up to 147. Remember Cotto is still young in his career he is 25 years old with 25 fights. He is undefeated with a very respectable resume. He has KO'ed fighters who have never been stopped, and has beat fighters that have never been beat. Ndou, Sosa, Corley(he rocked Mayweather too), Maussa, Pinto, Torres, Abdulaev, and Jukko are all very respectable names. The point is he is undefeated! and very young. He is the most exciting fighter in his division. He doesn't bore us with dancing the ring or economizing punches. He is not a dirty fighter, and he is a great sportsman. He is tactfull, oh and as Victoriano Sosa said., he is the "BEST BODY PUNCHER THAT I HAVE FOUGHT, HE HAS A GREAT ARSENAL OF PUNCHES" (Sosa has fought Mayweather and Spadafora) Cotto KO'd him! For Cotto being 25 fights in to his career he has more a more impressive resume than Hatton, and Mayweather did at that point in their career. Everyone is speaking as if this guy has had 40 fights and has fought nobodies.

Give respect to where respect deserves to be given, Cotto is a well deserved Champion.

He is a very talented fighter, but beating Kelson Pinto doesn't make him a "well deserved champion"

You missed my point, and Pinto is one name out of 25 that have been shalacked by Cotto. The only close fight that Cotto had was giving up 2 rounds and a knock down to a very strong Ricardo Torres that landed many clean punches. All of his fights have been blow outs. Even the Chop Chop fight, Chop Chop won one round! Sosa who was decisioned by Mayweather and Spadofora, was losing by a landslide to the well rounded PuertoRican before he was brutally knocked out!

Why did this supposedly brilliant, well rounded Cotto let Ricardo Torres land these punches then?

I respect the fact that he is a very talented guy, but to say he is a "well deserved champion" is perhaps a rather ****** comment: He isn't.

Cotto had a tough year so, I don't mind him fighting Branco. You have to understand that these last minute replacements can be more dangerous then the guy you were intended to fight. Ricardo was a hard puncher regardless of who he'd fought in the pass. Cotto got hit with some great punches and stayed in there and moved around till he got his head right. Then after that he started fighting the guy as if he never got hit with those punches and knocked him out. It's boxing...it doesn't always work out the way you expect it to go. Ask Zab Judah he'll tell you.

He is 25 fights in, he is young and learning. Mayweather was also hit by Corley and rocked, do you remember that? does that mean that Mayweather is not well rounded?

We're discussing Cotto, not Mayweather, though it seems as if the Cotto fans' favourite way to "big up" Cotto is to compare the time taken to win fights, its as if the phrase "styles make fights" is completely alien to some of you Boricuas.

Yet again the salient point is that you wrote that Cotto is a "well deserved Champion". Care to comment on that bull****?
