Worst Corner performance?

I don't believe they ever said that. At most, they said to "box" him, but after a very heavy body punch Oscar was actually running, the way Hearns ran just before he toppled over in the Hagler fight. He was on the verge of turning his back and making for the open spaces. That's why Trinidad was so frustrated pursuing him. The ref could easily have stopped to tell Oscar he had to make a fight.
Trinidad won the last 4 rds on all 3 cards, and the 8th rd on 2 cards....
Oscar always had poor body resistance. Don't you recall his special "chest protector" the commentators used to talk about. He had a protection belt which would edge up higher and higher all the time, even though his trunks were pulled high to begin with. I don't know how many times I've seen the ref push the belt down at the beginning of rounds. Very obvious.Comment

One I noticed particularly was Vitali Klitschko's corner in the Lewis fight. The cut diagonally across his eyebrow was a "Y" shape, and Joe Souza plastered it with vaseline FIRST, before he'd stopped the bleeding. He was very nervous that night for some reason, and his hands were shaking. You could see it clearly. He was rubbing vaseline into the cut AGAINST the "v" part of the "y" instead of toward, and instead of him pinching it closed, and putting the adrenaline or whatever, it aggravated it.Comment
