GILROY, Calif. -- Robert Guerrero held court on Thursday at his gym "Gtown Boxing" in his hometown, just days before he departs for training camp in Las Vegas ahead of his May 4 showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

As "Money" Mayweather likes to say, 43 have tried and 43 have failed (actually 42 since he rematched Jose Luis Castillo), but Guerrero (31-0-1, 18 KOs) believes he has a leg up on Mayweather's past opponents. He sat down with BoxingScene.com to talk about the fight.

BoxingScene: What's different about you versus the other guys who have said they would beat Floyd and lost?

You can throw numbers out the window when your in the ring with Floyd. Guerrero will be gun shy and afraid to pull the trigger.

A few weeks ago, Guerrero was the one doing all the trash talking. Now that Floyd is doing it, what's the problem?

People Floyd sells fights! Business as usual

This boy is to basic to beat anyone with real talent. Berto fights with to much emotions plus he don't recover after being hurt without being cautious. Floyd was born to do this!

i think thats gonna be the case..he says he's mentally strong but history suggests he has the tendency to break as seen in the yordan fight..

it's good that he's mentioning the jlc fight but he's got average punching power so i dont think he can earn floyds respect to a point minimizing his offense
