Most-if not all-of the opponents he had were either set-ups or worn out, has-beens and never-was's....
Sorry to disagree with you. The only good guys he fought were Archie Moore, aged 40, Louis, who was in and out of a sanitarium, old, punched and worn out. Also Jersey Joe, although champion, was 39 and had nearly 20 losses. Ezzard Charles, who gave him a terrific fight was old, well worn and not in good health. He'd had over 90 fights, with 10 losses, including 6-7 KOs. They'd all regressed to his level which made for good match-ups.
The year before he fought Walcott who only had to stay on his feet for the last 2 rds, he fought the perfect opponent, Willie Applegate.....
,
Another GOOD sample of Marciano's opponents would be Don ****ell. I knew all about him, I come from there. He was a natural light-heavyweight, goodish for England, peaked a few years before, but really washed up. Had been KOd about 8 times, (one by a middleweight) . When not in training he was so fat he wobbled when he walked. He had bad diabetes and glandular trouble, and other ailments. By the time he fought good old "Rocky" he'd had about 80 fights, as used up as it can get. He managed to go 10 rds......
Savold was another, dragged out to meet "Rocky" just a few months before he won the title. Savold had 150 fights, with 36 losses including 10 KOs..... Before fighting Marciano, he'd had 3 fights in the previous 4 years, and lost 2 of them, including a KO loss the one before he fought "Rocky"... Great opponent, retired after 6 rds. Then he went back again into his interrupted retirement
There's lots more of this in his record, but that's all that comes to me right now. I've always though him the worst champion in history, even worse than Jack Root.
Pick someone better,,,anyone.....

This is not going anywhere hahahaha
You haven't fought Ali , LISTON or Foreman so this is silly on yer part
not only that
If one must have fought one before he can comment on his record , my question you is have you fought Robert Guerrero ? IF not why even comment on him
and by the way why have you commented on anyone since you haven't fought anyone
dont even come back on this, its not worthwhile.
Roger Mayweather is a cur that QUIT in the RING,,,JR has the same BlOOD in his veins, don't be surprised to see JR QUIT, if Guerrero takes him deep in the trenches where JR has never been. all that talk is bluff, talk is cheap, I have never doubted Jrs skills just his heart,,,,,because he won't take on all comers, he ducked primed WW's, wants the easy fights , little , wee little old and real old
JUST a leghorn SHICKEN MANG
